There are so many things we get down on ourselves for. I look back and I can remember how hard I was on myself for the mistakes that I made in the past. This was before I had any training or education on the mind and body connection. I could cry just thinking about some of the harsh words I would say to myself back then. I mostly felt good about who I was and with the direction my life was going, but it wasn't until I found Louis Hay's book "You Can Heal Your Life" that I started to really heal.

I started to forgive myself for all the things I had done that I thought were mistakes or errors. I then focused on how to work on becoming the woman I was meant to be. I can tell you though that forgiving myself was hard. No matter how much I tried to "be" the person I wanted to be I would hear the negative chatter trying to take over and bring me down. I would have to constantly forgive myself in order to move forward as it is not easy to change your old programming. However, I had reached a breakthrough when I realized I didn't have to force the negative thoughts away and try to replace with a positive, but yet welcome the negative thoughts in a loving way realizing they are coming up to be looked at as something from the past that has been programmed into my mind this way and so I have to change all programming by acknowledging and welcoming all of me, but then letting go of what I no longer need. The negative chatter is fear that has been shoved deep down inside of me. Once I learned that taking that fear that comes up in the form of a negative thought and giving it my love and attention as a parent would a child, it then releases itself. It was amazing when I came to this realization and it was very freeing.

This also goes for people who have let you down in the past or bad experiences you may have had. It isn't healthy to hold grudges from the past or feelings of hatred or anger. We must forgive and release all of these negative feelings so that we can move closer to our higher self and live our souls purpose. We cannot live our soul's calling with hatred in our hearts. We must release the past and all the negative feelings that go with it. I know its hard because even I will release an old memory that gave me a bad feeling and feel good that I did the work, but then a few months later that same memory will pop up again out the blue and try to bring me down again. Nope, not gonna happen I've got too much training this time and away I send it. I will say to myself "I recognize this memory and don't like it one single bit so I am releasing you" and I will take a deep breath and breathe out slowly as I call in the Divine to assist me in releasing this negative memory and/or emotion. The more we do this, the more we are getting closer to our true selves. Our natural state is wholeness and pure light. While letting go repeatedly through out our days and months, the light becomes brighter and brighter and our soul is able to connect to us better so we are becoming more and more into that flow which enables us to get the clarity to live our true calling.

What do you think would happen if we always listened to our loving thoughts coming from our higher self? Seriously, see if you can become aware of your thoughts and become fearless, by only listening to your positive talk and letting go of the negative. I have been doing this and its amazing how wonderful I have been feeling. I now fully trust my higher self and no longer let fear take me down...even on my weakest days when its easier to just wallow in the fear. If you have enough awareness you won't listen. Fear does have its place, but we have to learn the difference. Is fear there for a good reason to alert you to get to safety or sending you an intuition? On the other hand, is fear there from past negative programming just to mess up a perfectly good day? Let it go! We always have a choice in every second of every day we can choose love over fear. Forgive the past, the person, the experience, the mistakes. Let them go and learn from them.

May you choose love over fear every time. May you grow lighter and brighter as you move forward in this beautiful journey of life.

“To forgive is merely to remember only the loving thoughts you gave in the past, and those that were given you.”
